Here at at Agape Chocolates, we are all about chocolate with a conscience. Our company’s Mission Statement is “To take a bite out of childhood hunger one bar at a time.” We accomplish this mission by creating handcrafted, artisan chocolate bars and caramel sauces wherefore each product sold, our company will help feed a local child where the product was purchased; therefore, the money will stay in the area the product is sold.

In the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) we work with the Golden Harvest Food Bank by donating to their BackPack program that provides meals to children at-risk of hunger with a supply of easy-open, nutritious foods for the weekend. In Georgia and South Carolina, one in four children live in families at or below the federal poverty level. These children often receive assistance from programs operating during the week, such as free or reduced price lunches and after school programs. However, it is over the weekend that many of these children risk going hungry. These children come back to school on Mondays, famished and weak, thinking only of the free meal that will come at breakfast and/or lunch time. Your bar purchase helps ensure that Golden Harvest will be able to get meals to these children in Georgia and South Carolina in the 30 counties their program serves.

In the Columbia, SC area we work with Harvest Hope Food Bank by donating to their BackPack program that provides meals to children at-risk of hunger with a supply of easy-open, nutritious foods for the weekend. Harvest Hope has multiple locations across their 20-county service area in South Carolina. Harvest Hope is a proud partner with Feeding America, the largest charitable hunger relief organization in the United States. They are also a member of the South Carolina Food Bank Association and distribute USDA product. Additionally, Harvest Hope serves as South Carolina’s primary disaster hunger relief emergency feeding organization as designated by the SC Emergency Management Division. They are prepared to mobilize in the event of an emergency to provide food throughout the state and to bordering areas that may be impacted by man-made or natural disasters.

Since we started selling our bars in July 2015, we have helped to feed over 36,300 meals to children nationwide and the number is growing daily!
